What is Camping under the Lakeside Great Wall (Seasonal Experience)?

Huanghuacheng Great Wall, a unique section of the Great Wall lying among mountains and water. Nestled 75 km north of central Beijing in Huairou District. During Ming Dynasty, ancient Chinese people built up a reservoir to provide water for the defense of the Great Wall. The reservoir creates a wonderful scene with the Great Wall. Appearing to be floating on the water, earning it the nickname 'Water Great Wall'. Surrounded by lush mountains and vibrant wildflowers in summer, Huanghuacheng offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city and crowded tourist spots like Badaling or Mutianyu. Huanghuacheng blends wild, unrestored sections with partially restored paths, offering an authentic and less-crowded experience. In this journey, you will experience something that 99.99% of Chinese people have never experienced before.

What you'll do

Pickup from Hotel

Our professional driver will pick you up from your hotel, and go straight ahead to Huanghuacheng Great Wall.

Climb the Great Wall

After entering the gate, you will soon see the Huanghuacheng's scenic trails. Passing four watchtowers, the mix of restored stone slabs and wild, rugged paths offers moderate challenges and stunning views of the lake and mountains.

Pick your tent & prepare for dinner

Have a little rest in your lovely tent and get ready to have a hot pot (or barbecue) for dinner. This communal meal is perfect for bonding with fellow travelers under the starry sky.

Have a sweet dream & get up to see the sunrise

Try to sleep earlier in the tent, once home to Ming Dynasty soldiers. Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise from the highest watchtower.

Climbdown the mountain & kayak in the reservoir

Climb down quickly and try kayak in the Haoming Lake. You will luckily witness the sunrise again.

Prepare to return to your Hotel

Your driver is already waiting for you in the parking lot. He will take you directly to your hotel.
