What is Traditional Chinese Medicine Experience?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic system with over 2,500 years of history. Based on ancient Chinese philosophy, it sees the body as a microcosm where health depends on internal and external balance. TCM works to restore this balance by activating the body's innate healing capacity. A key strength of TCM is its integrated approach, often combining multiple therapies for a more powerful and comprehensive effect.
What you'll do
Tui Na (Chinese Therapeutic Massage, 推拿)
Tui Na is a form of therapeutic massage that uses rhythmic compression, stretching, and specific manipulation techniques along the body's energy channels and acupoints. It works to unblock stagnant Qi and blood, relax muscles and tendons, and promote the smooth flow of energy. It is more focused and therapeutic than general relaxation massage.
Acupuncture (针灸)
Acupuncture is one of the most well-known TCM practices. It involves the insertion of very fine, sterile, single-use needles into specific acupoints on the body. The sensation is often described as a slight tingling or heaviness. The treatment is deeply relaxing.
Moxibustion (艾灸)
Moxibustion is a warming therapy that involves burning dried mugwort (a herb known as Artemisia vulgaris) near or on specific acupoints. The moxa can be rolled into a stick and held over the skin, or a small cone can be placed directly on an acupuncture needle.
Cupping Therapy (拔火罐)
Cupping involves placing glass, bamboo, or silicone cups on the skin to create a suction effect. It often leaves temporary circular marks on the skin, which are not bruises but indications of stagnation being released.
Chinese Herbal Medicine (中草药)
TCM uses a vast pharmacopoeia of natural substances—including roots, barks, flowers, and minerals—to create customized formulas. Herbal formulas are prescribed based on the individual's unique TCM pattern diagnosis. They work synergistically to address the root cause of an imbalance, not just the symptoms.
Special Note
Traditional Chinese Medicine emphasizes "treatment based on syndrome differentiation". Following the doctor's consultation, the pre-set experience items may be personally tailored according to your specific body constitution and health condition to ensure both safety and relevance.
